The rain had lasted for almost a week now. Storm walked outside, changing the atmosphere around her to avoid getting wet. "This is ridiculous," she muttered, more at herself then the current situation. She was more adult then this pettiness implied. Looking towards the sky, her eyes whitened as she cleared the storm.

::In his office, the Professor had been doing paperwork at his desk. Suddenly, the room lightened and he turned his head towards the window. The rain had finally stopped. He breathed a sigh of relief.:: Thank the Lord and weather mutants for small favors...

Better? she questioned, knowing full well the Professor could hear her.

*You've just given me the strength to survive the day.* ::He sent back to her, honestly. In her action there was a glimmer of hope.::
Posted by Storm on Mar 5, 2007, 5:10pm
I'm glad. You do have my support, you know, she responded.
Posted by The Man on Mar 5, 2007, 6:55pm
::The Professor closed his eyes. He hadn't been sure the last few days what would happen. But those few words helped ease his emotional burden.:: *You don't know how grateful I am.*

We have to stand together, or this will fall apart. She looked up to the man too much to not give her support in the matter, particularly with recent events among the students. Agreeing with the situation between the X-Men and certain Brotherhood members was too much to ask...but personal feelings aside, he needed her assistance. If you need my help, in any way, my support stands. I don't think what happened was...wise...but I will help if I can.

*Thank you,* ::His mental words carried with them the heart-felt gratitude he felt. He had been very worried this last week about her, concerned that he had damaged their relationship, the trust between them. And that he had single-handedly destroyed the remnents of the dream he had started decades ago. But her support gave him hope to keep going.:: *We'll get through this.*

Storm arched a mental eyebrow at that. I hope so. Given the situation, she wasn't convinced. We might. What about Erik?
Posted by The Man on Mar 7, 2007, 11:15am
::The Professor sighed softly. That was the question that he was trying to answer himself.:: *I don't know.*
Posted by Storm on Mar 7, 2007, 3:01pm
And that's what scares me, even more then Mystique being around. You won't be the only one keeping an eye on him.
Posted by The Man on Mar 8, 2007, 3:03am
*That would be wise,* ::The Professor sent back to her. He didn't know what to make of Magneto at the moment and it would be best if somebody more neutral helped him watch. Or if not neutral, as none of the X-Men were, then at least somebody who didn't share that damned affection for the silver-haired mutant.:: *Not that this is surprising to you, but I fear his intentions.*
Posted by Storm on Mar 8, 2007, 10:55am
As do I. And hers, for that matter.
Posted by The Man on Mar 8, 2007, 1:02pm
::Xavier knew it would be difficult; how she or the rest of the mansion was supposed to trust in Mystique. It had taken him a while to do it, and he had been intimate with her, slept beside her every night, read her mind, felt her emotions. Without that connection...he supposed they would simply have to wait and hope for adjustment.:: *I know,* ::He replied honestly, tapping his fingers on his desk as he sent his thoughts to her.:: *And I can't fault you for that. But..." ::This was difficult for him.:: *Magneto can be uncontrollable. Watch him, I'll watch her.*
Posted by Storm on Mar 8, 2007, 1:55pm
Ororo shook her head, slowly. Forgive me for saying this but I don't trust your impartiality with her, with everything being as it is. If anything goes wrong... She left the statement open-ended.
Posted by The Man on Mar 8, 2007, 3:26pm
*You're always forgiven,* ::The Professor responded. It was simply true. He wasn't offended by her concern, but even if he had been, there was nothing that she could say or do that would make him turn from her forever. That was his problem, he thought to himself, frowning at his desk.:: *And your concern is valid, considering what a poor track record I have with these matters. But for the record, I believe she's had a change of heart.*

Really? Was that before or after she left you to die in Stryker's compound? She couldn't help it, it was the first thing that came to mind.
Posted by The Man on Mar 8, 2007, 3:49pm
*Long after,* ::The Professor replied, looking down at his desk. The work he had set out to do wouldn't get done, he realized. Even with clear skies, there was still tension. He knew she worried, that she cared. And he loved her for it. Still, it was difficult to explain his thoughts. That he had a soft spot for villains turned good. And he was defensive. Not only of her, but of himself. Especially in the wake of his anger at Erik.:: *At least I survived the lake, thanks to you.*

She gave a mental headshake. Thanks to Kurt. No wind in the world would have kept that room from crashing in on us. Her thoughts softened, despite her next words. Your empathy will get you killed. I suppose that's what you have us around.
((OOC Screw playing Emma, I should set up Kurt. ))
Posted by The Man on Mar 8, 2007, 4:00pm
*Thanks to you all,* ::He corrected himself. He certainly hadn't forgotten Kurt's heroic actions and idly wondered what had happened to the young man. His mental tone became somewhat more depressed.:: *it already did.*
((OOC: I would love to see Kurt.))
Posted by Storm on Mar 8, 2007, 10:37pm
She immediately regretted the statement. I'm sorry, I didn't think...
Posted by The Man on Mar 12, 2007, 12:08pm
*I know,* ::Thje words hung in the air between them. Then he changed the subject., his tone becoming less morose.:: *We should have a briefing to discuss these issues more in depth.*
Posted by Storm on Mar 12, 2007, 12:46pm
Indeed. And considering the track record of your office I'd suggest somewhere more private.

*The Danger Room. We can use the computers.* ::The Professor bowed to her logic. He needed to find a better locksmith.::
Posted by Storm on Mar 12, 2007, 1:09pm
Storm shook her head. Night has been wandering around there as well. My quarters, or Scotts, perhaps?
Posted by The Man on Mar 12, 2007, 7:33pm
*Your rooms, then.* ::The Professor sent back to her. They needed the utmost privacy. And with Jean as distant as she had been, Scott's room was a risk.::
