"Yes," she said, nodding, then moving her glass of water to the side, with a slight smile. "Am I the only one who's nervous?"

::Pietro had been taught to never show nervousness; it was a sign of weakness. Better to not feel it, although it was more difficult. He set aside his menu and a thin smile crossed his lips.:: "Excited is what I would call it. Don't be nervous with me."

She smiled, giving a self deprecating eyeroll. "New places, different people. I always get like this. I feel like I felt when I first met Xavier...or Mystique, for that matter." Finding a shapeshifting mutant in the middle of Central Park had been new, to say the least.

::A frown flashed across Pietro's features at the mention of the shape-shifter. She had no place at this restaurant, at what was to be a joyous evening with he and Typhoid. But he quickly recovered himself, latching onto the subject, rather than the names.:: "I will try to not be so intimidating."

"You're not intimidating, Pietro." She hadn't missed the momentary flash of anger, and held out her hand to him across the table, an attempt to take the sting out of the words. "You really distrust her that much?"

::Pietro lay his hand atop hers, revelling in the softness of her skin, the previously forbidden touch. He'd prefer not to answer her question, to banish the shape-shifter from the conversation entirely. Yet she had asked, and the question was valid. Complicated, but valid all the same.:: "She represents everything wrong with Magneto. I can't brush that aside."

"Because she worked for him, or something else?" She didn't want to press, but it worried her that two people she cared for could be at such odds, when she didn't really understand why. Her thumb moved across his palm, trying to soften what she knew was a hard subject.

::This was nearing dangerous emotional territory for Pietro. His issues with his father caused explosive anger, which covered deeper feelings of rejection. There was also gratitude there, that he'd been rejected, so that he could see through Magneto's lies and twisted promises. Then there was the question of what Typhoid knew. She said "worked for him," not "was his lieutenant," and "was also his harlot." Perhaps she didn't know, and he remembered that she and the shape-shifter were friends. This was yet again a time where he had to hold his tongue.:: "You could say that."

She shook her head, drew her hand away a little. "I'm sorry, I don't know enough to be asking questions." She'd hate someone prying into her personal issues like that, unless she allowed them to or brought it up herself.

"It's a difficult subject," ::Pietro admitted, his hand following hers as it pulled away. Magneto and everything associated with him always was.::

She didn't pull away any farther, left her hand to rest where it sat under his, smiling faintly. "So I see."

::Before further conversation could ensue, their waiter returned, ready to take their order. Pietro deferred, letting Typhoid order first.::

Typhoid ordered pollo alla francese, with a small glass of red wine, obviously not aiming for another Hellfire disaster. A song started up on the background music, Lara Fabian's "Adagio." She smiled to herself as Pietro ordered.

::Pietro ordered and costoletta di maiale a Strada San Felice, an Italian beer that, if nothing else, tasted pleasant. The waiter took their orders, bowed, and went to place them.::

Typhoid involuntarily shut her eyes listening to the music while Pietro placed his order-she hadn't heard the song in awhile, much less tried to sing it- perfectly content with her hand in Pietro's as she listened.
