"Oh," Lance said. He had noticed the man's business card earlier while rolling the magazine. This was an interesting catch. Betsy would be thrilled, he was sure. He turned to look at the man. "This is cool," he said. "Do you plan to have a separate radio frequency, a secret web network or a horde of telepaths relaying stuff from one team to another?"

"Using code work for most communication mediums. Those who work without me and just take the contact information for mutants I know, will come up with multiple methods to communicate. Cell phones voice and text are good enough if you do not use them in the secret hideouts and stick to code that sounds like normal conversation. I have manuals for that sort of espionage."
"When I work with a group, I can make devices that communicate over long distances that do not use radio waves. Detectable by telepaths but not understood by them."

"Sure, though if you ask me to mail it to you, you fail the course. Instead well do a 'dead drop'. I'll place the 'package' in the soil around that bush, next to the garbage can by 4 am tomorrow. Any time after that you can retrieve it."

Lance was excited, and it showed even though he tried not to let it show. This was like a real spy scenario with missions, quests and caches. Nevertheless, he attempted to look serious and experienced.
"Gotcha," he said. After a pause, he added, "I'll drop a word about you to my team."
