Laurie chuckled, her eyes lowering for a moment in response to the compliment. "Thank you," she said. "I just hope I can follow through."

"Well, as I see it," Elias said, taking a sip of his coffee, "we are all one community, humans and mutants. There is good and bad on both sides and keeping the black and white thinking on one side only will just cause more mess." He shrugged. "I know there are many of us and of them who would not agree on that, but you seem to and I like that." She seemed to have a good attitude there, he thought which matched the magazine nicely, and the topic of the current issue.

Laurie merely nodded. She felt like they'd come to a stopping place, and she didn't have anything else to say. "Was there anything else you'd like to know?" She asked. Just because she'd spoken her piece didn't mean she'd thought of everything.

Elias shook his head. "Not that I could think of right now." he said. "but it would be great if you could maybe give me your cell number, just in case anything should come up during further research, if that´s fine with you." Laurie didn´t seem stuck up or anything, but he wanted to avoid that question sound like a cheap way to get the girl´s number.

Laurie nodded. She'd made a point of saying she wanted to be available to anyone who needed her, so she understood the importance of giving out her information. She pulled out a pen and the small notebook she'd begun carrying with her and jotted the number down, the ripped out the page and slid it over to him.

Elias had a brief glance at the piece of paper and put it into the pocket of his jacket, patting it once. "Great," he said, flashing her a boyish smile. "You got mine, just in case there is anything else to add or you have any more ideas. And the drink´s on me of course."

Laurie's smile widened. "Thank you," she said, "That's really sweet. And it was really nice to meet you."

"My pleasure," Elias said, flashing her a smile when the waitress arrived with the bill and he paid, giving a little extra tip. "You here with a car or can I drop you off somewhere?"

"I'll be fine," Laurie replied. She stood and gathered her things and once again extended her hand. "Thank you for this opportunity," she said by way of concluding their interview.

Elias took her hand and shook it with a smile. "My pleasure," he said. He then pocketed his cell which had been recording the interview and made a move to indicate to her that she could leave before him. There were some manners he had been taught way back and those stuck. Such as holding open doors.
