Shade watched him carefully. Not the way she would usually looking at him when trying to figure out his mood but more like he was some interesting sort of insect or bird about which she wondered what it would do.
She then looked back to the front, thinking lazily and slowly, but thinking about what she had ´traded´ for the picture. "I didn´t show her any pictures." she murmured, suddenly very intereted in the surface of her jeans.

"The only reason for dis 'cause ya ain't got any," Gambit smirked, being absolutely certain that, considering the state Shade was in, she wouldn't have hesitated to show Bel some pictures if she had had any with her. "I bet ya had some other blackmail to share?"

Shade tossed him an askew glance, wondering why he was smirking now and coming to the conclusion that it was probably not a good sign. She narrowed her eyes slightly at him before looking away. "I just..." she paused, again fiddling about with her clothes. "just little things, you know. That you sung that pirate song when we playing that game in the park once." She would probably blow her cover in the morning big time because stupid Bel would of course tell about the rest when Gambit confronted her about the photo. But little steps. Testing Gambit´s anger level first. Smart idea.

"Shade," Gambit made a face. "The hell ya do, walkin' around tellin' everybody about us? About me? So what, ya thought she's my wife, so now she has the right t' know stuff?"

Shade sank a little deeper in her seat. "No..." she said, her voice low, but the very guilty looking pout giving away both her drunken state and her bad consciousness. "I dunno why I did that. It was fun." She turned her head as if to look if he was really mad at her looking terribly smitten.

"I bet," Gambit said and sighed. He thought that it was no use trying to discuss it with Shade now. Not until she'd get sober.
The car pulled into the garage in the building where Gambit's apartment was. He pulled drowsy Shade out of the car and helped her walk with him to the elevator.

When he pulled her out of the car, Shade could feel a wave of drowsyness wash over her. She didn´t really notice much about walking towards the elevator, since she didn´t do much of the walking anyways, and simply fell asleep shortly after he had pressed the elevator button, sagging in his grasp.

Gambit pulled Shade up and picked her up to carry her to his apartment. Once he was inside, he carried her unconscious body to the bed, undressed her and left her to sleep, himself following suit shortly.

Shade didn´t notice any of this, her unconsciousness turning in to sleep slowly so that she merely stirred once and then reacted to his undressing with nothing but unladylike snoring.

Gambit studied her with a thoughtful look, wondering if he was revenged a bit for having now something to blackmail Shade back later. But for now he simply got into bed and turned Shade onto her side, spooning her in a hug from behind.

Shade slept like a stone, occasionally snoring herself through the night and noticing none of it at all, sleeping dreamlessly till the early morning when not enough sleep woke her, but an awful headache. She groaned, half in her sleep, one hand reaching up to her head as she curled up more in an attempt to make the pain go away, her senses still too dulled to realise what she was doing here or how she had come here.

Gambit woke up at the sound of Shade's voice. It looked like it was still early. He rose on his elbow slightly to take a look at her.

Shade rolled onto her back, feeling her head spin. When she caught sight of Gambit who was looking at her, propped on his elbow, she just stared at him for a long moment, memory slowly trickling back until she remembered. She let out a groan, covering her eyes with an arm. "Oh God...please tell me I dreamed this."

By the looks of it, Shade was having a hangover. Well, this was to be expected. He wasn't looking at her sternly or menacingly, so far he was simply concerned how she was feeling. "It depends," he said, not entirely sure how much and in what aspects she remembered the events of the past night.

Shade dropped her arm, rubbing er eyes which did not really help the headache much. "Let me see..." she sighed. "I was at the Hellfire, ran into your wife, we got drunk and decided it would be funny to stage a fight and pretend it was real."
