Typhoid watched Skids silently as Pietro cooked. "Does anyone know you're here, Skids?" she asked finally, after a long moment of thought.

::That was a question which Pietro had intended to ask in the basement, before the derailment of the evening; however, it had to be asked. He nodded to himself with tacit approval at Rossignol's strategy, while tending to the sausage and eggs.::

Skids nodded, lathering soap onto her hands; it had been ages since she'd had a proper wash. The soap felt heavenly. "A friend of mine in the Morlocks," she said, rinsing the suds from her skin. "His name is Erg." Turning off the water, a thought occurred to her, and she froze. "He won't be in any trouble, will he? He told me to find you. I thought, maybe, he knew you."

Ty made a mental note to get her into a bath as soon as possible. "I don't know him, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know me. I can't say I memorized the names of everyone I met."

::The toast popped from the toaster, and Pietro was there to catch them into his hand; he set slices down on the plates at the table, and then returned to the stove to tend to the eggs and sausage, both nearly finished. He made a mental note to investigate an "Erg" in his fre time, as he wouldn't get the force involved in personal matters. He didn't trust the force in personal matters.
When the eggs and the sausages were finished, he turned off the stove, brought the skillet to the table, and began serving. The skillet was then set back down on the stovetop, and he settled at the table beside Rossignol.::

Skids, having dried her hands on a kitchen towel she found hanging on a drawer, relaxed and returned to her place at the table. By the time she reached her seat, Pietro had already served up breakfast and sat down; if she'd blinked, she wouldn't have seen him move.
Sliding into her seat, she bit into a piece of toast. Remembering what Typhoid had said, she chewed her bite thoroughly before taking another one. When half the slice was finished, she put it back on her plate and looked up at Pietro. "Do you move that fast all the time?" she asked.

::Pietro sipped from his glass and then set it down. As much as he might like to, the world did not function at the same pace he could, and it had taken effort to bring himself to the world's level. It was either that or live constantly apart, and he'd been unable to do the latter. Addressing her question, he replied,:: "No."

Typhoid ate while the two had their admittedly brief conversation, musing over the girl's answer. This Erg could be someone higher up, or simply a peon. "Why would a 'Lock tell you to come find me?" It was the all important question, and she asked it aloud and sharply as that thought occurred to her.

Skids cringed slightly at the sharp snap of Typhoid's question. "I-I don't know," she said truthfully. "He knew I didn't have anywhere else to go, though. He's not exactly in a position to have me reinstated as a Morlock."

"Would you want to be if he was?" she asked, taking a bite of eggs and attempting to even her tone. Sometimes sugar was better then vinegar if you wanted answers.

Skids didn't even have to think about it; she immediately shook her. "No," she said. "I was never much good at being a Morlock. That's why Masque kicked me out."

::Pietro was listening attentively, although he had been letting Rossignol ask questions rather than ask himself. With a lull in conversation, he set down his fork.:: "This was recently?"

"Last year," Skids corrected him, taking a bite of sausage. "About nine months ago. This is really good, by the way."

::Roughly the same time that Rossignol had been attacked. Yes, Pietro would pay particular attention to *that* and mention it to Uncle in the morning. As for the compliment...he had never been graceful in receiving them, and while that could manifest itself affectionately with family, in other circumstances, it was simply uncomfortable. He managed to reply,:: "Thank you. I cook."

Skids smiled. "Very well," she added, taking another bite of egg. Her stomach, however, was starting to feel uncomfortable, so she put her fork down. She didn't want to offend Pietro when she didn't finish her breakfast; she had, after all, finished her hot chocolate in nearly three gulps. So she had made sure to compliment him.
She sat quietly for a moment before pushing out her chair. "Do you mind if I crash in the...what was it you called it? Parlor?"
