He had a strong grip; hers wasn't weak, but it was still surprising. "Um...thanks." She withdrew her hand after a second. "So..what's with the falling out of trees?"

"Why not?" ::Tobias asked the question rhetorically; he knew that it was cold out, and that Lorna had no reason to be able to speak to his reasons. But he didn't mind the cold, and he knew that the world wouldn't wait for warmth to test him, so he had to rise to the challenge on a daily basis.::

She considered him seriously as if trying to decide if he was just being nice, or really was flirting. "Well...sure, I guess. I'm freezing, anyways." Her cheeks turned red, which fortunately didn't matter because they were red from the cold. She had never specifically done something like this with a boy her age.
