Shade was glad he didn´t ask any further. "Oh." she said. "you do? Who else said that?" He was probably true. She couldn´t recall having seen a kid as young here before, so maybe quite some people would relate.

Shade shrugged. "Maybe that other person´s sibling is your age." She had to keep herself from saying ´was your age´ in the last second, reflecting on herself again. "Or looked a little like you. Can be many reasons. You remember that person´s name?"

Shade let out a laugh. Living with that many siblings sounded kind of difficult. Her and Jimmy had had their ruffles now and then even though never too much, which maybe had also been because of the age difference.
"Anyone of them mutants as well?" she asked.

Shade gave him a look. His ears it seemed were an important part of his body language, much like a cat´s actually and se was starting to get the knack of interpreting it. Now they expressed gloomyness she thought. "Normal?" she asked. "Normal as in, no mutants?" She guessed it was just that, which meant he believed his powers to be something unnatural, out of the ordinary. "that´s got nothing to do with being normal or no, Iggy."

"Of course it´s not normal." Shade said with a straight face. "if you interpret normal as being something like a.. norm in society. What´s accepted. We are not accepted by everyone yet, so maybe yes, we are not normal in that we are not like the majority." She paused and gave him a look, studying him. Normal is boring, she thought with an inward smile. It wasn´t really a motto of hers but something rather close to that. "So what. You´re not mainstream. You can do stuff others can´t. Makes you special like a talented pianist or an artist."

Iggy listened carefully to what shade had said and sighed. For years his father and mother had beaten into him that he was an anbomination, a freak of nature, unworthy of life. What Shade said now puzzled him and shook his beaten morals.
" Like Mozart?" he said feebly.

Shade smiled, inwardly sighing. Seemed like his family had not been too tolerant.
"Like Mozart." she said, letting thin layers of her skin vanish on her forehead so it looked like there was an exclamation mark momentarilly forming over her eyes.
"I bet the first fish with legs got quite some bashing, too. That´s evolution."
